Nathan Jones Genealogy

Nathan⁴ Jones (Nathan³ Hugh² Hugh¹) was born in Dracut February 25, 1748, went with his parents about 1773 to that part of Amherst, New Hampshire which was later the town of Mt. Vernon, where he died November 6, 1813. In his will, dated October 18, probated December 15, 1813. he mentions wife Mary; daughter Elizabeth Jones; daughter Dorcas Farrington; daughters Dorothy Trow, Serviah Lampson and Rhoda Pike; and only son, Nathan, to whom was left the homestead. He married first Esther Butterfield and married second, Mary.

CHILDREN BY FIRST MARRIAGE

1. Elizabeth, born April 29, 1777, died February 8, 1829. Married February 28, 1815, Nathan, born July 18, 1763, died August 31, 1849, son of Nathan and Martha Fuller of Amherst, New Hampshire. They lived in Amherst and had one child.
2. Dorcas, born March 22, 17 79. Married Farrington.
3. Dorothy, born October 11, 1 Married Trow.
4. Serviah, born October 1, 1783. Married Lampson.
5. Nathan, born July 10, 1187. Inherited and occupied his father's homestead. Died 1820. Will dated December 8, 1820, probated January 4, 1821, names his wife, Sarah. and four children. He married Sarah Bancroft, who removed to Belleville, Canada West. after the death of her husband.
