James Fraim Genealogy

James Fraim, son of David and Catherine Fraim, born in Chester County, Pennsylvania, March. 18, 1764, married Rachel
Fred of English descent. She was born in Chester County, Pennsylvania in 1765 and died on
May 29, 1836. The children of James and Rachel Fraim were:

1. Benjamin, born September 25, 1791; died March 29, 1876;

2. Jesse, born February 20, 1793; died July 23, 1823;

3. Olivia, born October 21, 1794; Mrs. Thomas McClintock;

4. John, born July 12, 1797; died January 26, 1840;

5. Rachel, born March 10, 1800; died September 20, 1832; Unmarried;

6. Miller, born February 24, 1802; died 1854;

7. Reuben, born June 18, 1804; died March 31, 1891.

Reuben Fraim changed the spelling of his name from Fraim to Frame in 1825 to correspond with that of some cousins who had changed it also. He married Margaret Stewart Selby at Flushing, Long Island.

The Orthodox Quakers disowned Rachel Fred because she married James Fraim, a Hixite Quaker.
