Daniel Tapley Genealogy
Daniel Tapley, son of Thomas, was tenant of the old Walton Manor
at Folkstone, England. He married Elizabeth Sanford, daughter of Mark Sanford,
residents of the same town. They came. to America the latter part of June, 1835,
with four children, Rebecca, Ann, Edward, and John; and settled at Vernon
Center, Oneida Co., State of New York. Elizabeth was buried at Vernon, near
Utica, N. Y. Daniel was buried at Canterbury, England.
Daniel Tapley, born at Folkstone, England, May 12, 1777, died March 14, 1846.
Elizabeth, his wife, born Jan. 11, 1783, died June 27, 1842. Residents of
Racine, Wis. Children of Daniel and Elizabeth Tapley, all born in Folkstone,
England:
Daniel Tapley, born June 21, 1803. Married, 1st, Mary Spicer;
2nd, Ann Boxer. He was a farmer of Folkstone and Dover, Kent, England, and
died Feb. 14, 1881.
Elizabeth Tapley, born Feb. 13, 1806, died in 1877.
Thomas Tapley, born Feb. 7, 1808, died Dec. 27, 1833.
Mark Sanford Tapley,
born Dec. 16, 1809, died Jan. 25, 1892.
Margaret Tapley, born Jan. 2,1812, died Feb. 27,1836.
Mary, born Oct. 18, 1814, married John Harris, lived in Folkstone, England.
Rebecca Tapley, born Feb. 8, 1818. Married, 1st, Sept. 17, 1835, William
Glashooker, a farmer of Michigan, who died Sept. 10, 1854. She married 2nd,
Jan. 1, 1857, Rev. James Bush, a M. E. minister, who died Nov. 28, 1883. She
died Aug. 7, 1898, age 80 years. There is an article written by her in the
"Geneology of the Tapley Family."
Ann Tapley, born Jan. 17, 1820, died Oct. 22, 1835.
Edward Tapley, born Oct. 4, 1822.
John Tapley, born Aug. 13, 1824. Married Charlotte Scott. He died Aug. 22,
1885, at Folkstone, England, his birthplace, while on a visit there.
