Benjamin F. Smith Genealogy

Benjamin F. Smith, son of Roswell Smith, Jr. Born at Stanstead, Canada, June 25, 1812. Died in civil war April 6, 1862, at Southern Hospital at Montgomery, Ala. Service A, 18 Wis. Inf. Married Hannah S. Wood, at Adams, Wis., June 7, 1849; widow remarried John C. Hogelin, Dec., 1863. He died in 1894. She died in 1915 at Oshkosh, Wis. (No children by Hogelin.)

Children:

Ellen S. Smith, born July 30, 1850, at Tay-che-dah, Wis. Married Alexander Mackie at Fondulac, Wis., Sept. 20, 1875. She died at Oshkosh, Wis., about 1919.

Edna May Mackie, born Apr. 20, 1877. Residence, 23 Frederick Ave., Oshkosh, Wis. Unmarried, 1918.

Ruth Ellen Mackie, born July 3, 1879. Residence, 23 Frederick Ave., Oshkosh, Wis. Unmarried, 1918.

Charles Mackie, born Aug. 1, 1887. Residence, 23 Frederick Ave., Oshkosh, Wis. Unmarried, 1918.

Benjamin F. Smith, Jr., born June 2, 1852. Died at Fondulac, Wis., Nov. 2, 1869 (presumably unmarried).

Virginia Smith, born Feb. 18, 1854, at Tay-che-dah, Wis. Married Dec. 17, 1878, Lewis H. Bishop, at Fondulac, Wis. She died Dec. 25, 1909, at Flaxton, N. D. He resides at Flaxton, N. D.

Mildred Lemuel Bishop, born Apr. 3, 1881, at Tay-che-dah, Wis. Unmarried. Residence, Flaxton, N. D., 1918.

Edith Wood Bishop, born July 2, 1883, at Tay-che-dah, Wis. Unmarried. Residence, Flaxton, N. D,. 1918. Died Nov. 10. 1918, at Flaxton, N. D.

Harriet S. Smith, born Apr. 2. 1855, at Tay-che-dah. Wis. Married Charles S. McCoy, at Fond-du-lac. Wis. (date unknown). He is presumed to be dead. She is presumed to reside in Chicago, Ills. In 1916 she resided at 908 So. Wabash Ave. No children known.
