LEMUEL4 PARISH (Samuel,3 Samuel,2 John1), born in Canterbury, Conn., 17 Nov. 1732, died there 17 Apr. 1821. He married, 4 May 1758, ZERVIAH SMITH, born 8 Nov. 1741, died 13 May 1828, daughter of John and Mehitable (Adams), and lived in Canterbury, where all his children were born. Children:

  2. JOHN, b. 11 June 1761; d. in Brooklyn, Conn., 29 Dec. 1835; m. (1) in Brooklyn, 30 May 1790, ELIZABETH WHITNEY, who d. there 6 Jan. 1802; m. (2) SARAH CHURCH. "Was Brooklyn's second lawyer."

  3. OBADIAH, b. 22 Sept. 1764; d. in Gilmanton, N. H., 16 Nov. 1794; m. 4 Dec. 1793, HANNAH BADGER, b. 12 Apr. 1772, d. 20 Jan. 1803, dau. of Gen. Joseph, Jr., and Elizabeth (Parsons) of Gilmanton.

  4. RUFUS, b. 8 or 16 Sept. 1768; d. in Gilmanton, N. H., 5 June 1853; m. (1) 22 Nov. 1789, ANNA BREWSTER, who d. 19 Aug. 1798; m. (2) 26 Sept. 1799, SALLY BADGER, b. 9 Dec. 1773, dau. of Gen. Joseph, Jr., and Elizabeth (Parsons) of Gilmanton.

  5. CYNTHIA, b. 19 Feb. 1770; d. in Tolland, Conn., 21 Feb. 1837; m. 31 Mar. 1798, EBENEZER WALDO, b. 6 Apr. 1771, d. 27 Aug. 1840, son of Zachariah and Elizabeth (Wight).

  6. MEHITABLE, b. 22 Jan. 1773; d. 10 May 1775.

  7. JEREMIAH, b. 17 Oct. 1775; d. in Tolland, Conn., 13 or 18 Jan. 1856; m. LYDIA MANNING, b. 27 Mar. 1785, dau. of Calvin and Lydia (Robertson) of Coventry, Conn. Children:

    1. Ariel,6 b. 2 July 1808; d. in Denver, Colo., 1885; m. (1) 3 Apr. 1836, Caroline Dickerman, who d. 25 July 1838; m. (2) 28 Nov. 1839, Anna Woods.

    2. Lydia, b. 27 Sept. 1814; d. unm.

    3. Jeremiah S., b. 24 Oct. 1821; m. Caroline E. Angell.

    4. Eliza M., b. 26 Mar. 1823; d. unm.
