Abraham Painter Genealogy
(1) ABRAHAM PAINTER, the oldest child of
Christian and Mary E. Painter, was
born Dec. 9, 1714, and died Dec. 9, 1840, at the age of 66 years. He was married
in the latter part of the seventeenth century to Magdalena Karns (Old Aunt
Modlin, as she was familiarly called). To this union were born one son and three
daughters:
The first three children died in early life of consumption. Mrs.
Blazer lived to rear her family, but died before they came west to Indiana. She
is buried in the old Rader Cemetery in Virginia. Her parents came to this
country in 1832, with the family of Absalom Painter, and for a number of years
made their home with this brother and at the home of their nephew, John P.
Miller. Abraham Painter died at the home of the latter, Dec. 9, 1840. His wife
died at the home of the former, sixteen years later, Jan. 27, 1856, being 84
years, 9 months and 22 days old.
Rachel Painter grew to womanhood, and married Christian Blazer.
To them were born three sons and three daughters.
(1) Leanah Blazer, married Jacob Wise. They live in
Middletown, Ind.
(2) Eli Blazer. Born Jan. 2, 1826; died June 7, 1853.
(3) Mary Blazer. Born Tune 25, 1827; died Oct. 10, 1886. Married Sept. 19,
1847, to Michael Pitser, of Delaware County, Ind. To this union were born five
sons and two daughters.
(1) John Pitser. Born Aug. 3, 1848. Married Dec. 26, 1872,
to Amanda Funkhouser, a daughter of Isaac and Louisa Funkhouser, of Cross
Roads, Delaware Co., Ind. They live at Frankton, Ind. They have three
children.
(1) Odus Pitser. Born Jan. 11, 1875; died in infancy.
(2) Floyd Pitser. Born Aug. 17, 1878, married Feb. 27, 1899, to Bertha
Closser, of Frankton, Ind.
(3) Arthur Pitser. Born Jan. 26, 1887.
(2) Henry Pitser. Born Nov. 25, 1850. Married Nov. 3, 1873,
to Fanny Richman, daughter of Henry and Leanah Richman, of Daleville, Ind.
To them were born four sons and three daughters.
(1) Gertrude Pitser.
(2) Pearl Pitser.
(3) Osie Pitser.
(4) Charles Pitser.
(5) William Pitser.
(6) Ollie Pitser.
(7) Clarence Pitser.
Henry Pitser was married a second time in 1894, to a Mrs.
Needham, a daughter of Philip Jones, of Progress, Ind. They reside at
present in Yorktown, Ind.
(3) Mary Magdalene Pitser. Born March 26, 1852. Married Aug.
30, 1887, to Matthew Walker. They live near Yorktown, Delaware Co., Ind.
They have two sons and one daughter.
(1) Alta Walker. Born Oct. 18, 1888.
(2) Chester Walker. Born May 10, 1890.
(3) Ward Walker. Born June 19, 1892.
(4) Sarah Elizabeth Pitser. Born Sept. 16, 1854; died Feb.
22, 1890. Married Oct. 19, 1874, to George W. Richman. They had three sons
and four daughters.
(1) Modestus Richman. Born Aug. 23, 1875; died Sept. 3,
1876.
(2) Coressa Richman. Born Dec. 23, 1876, married in 1898 to Charles
Webber. They have two children.
(1) Zeno Webber. Born Oct. 12, 1900.
(2) Viola Webber. Born Feb. 16, 1903.
(3) Emory Richman. Born March 16, 1879; died May 5, 1884.
(4) Viola N. Richman. Born Aug. 15, 1881, married in June, 1899, to
Charles Reed. To them have been born three children.
(1) Hallie Reed. Born June 10, 1900.
(2) Walter Reed. Born Oct. 14, 1901.
(3) George Reed. Born May 25, 1903.
(5) Earnest Richman. Born May 5, 1883.
(6) Guy Richman. Born Aug. 26, 1885.
(7) Bessie Richman. Born Jan. 5, 1888; died June 13, 1889.
(5) David Perry Pitser. Born Nov. 2, 1857. Married in March,
1886, to Emma Ginn, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Ginn. To them were born
three children who died in infancy. Present post-office address of Perry
Pitser is Cross Roads, Ind.
(6) Joseph Edward Pitser. Born Oct. 12, 1859.
(7) William Morton Pitser. Born June 1, 1862.
(4) Harriet Blazer. Married Capt. Jack McClanahan. To them
were born two sons and one daughter.
(1) Lucinda McClanahan. Born in 1868. Married to John Ashby
Wean. They live at Mechanicsburg, Ind. They have three children.
(5) John Blazer. Born Sept. 24, 1828; died Feb. 13, 1850.
(6) Abraham Blazer. Born Jan. 15, 1831; died May 27, 1850.
