Lukes of Strevelyn had: Sir William of Keir, 1420, who married first, Margaret Cunningham and had: Sir William, 1471-1503, who married (as his second wife) before 1495, Margaret, daughter of James Chrichton of Ruthvendenny, and had: Sir John 1503, who married Margaret Forrester, daughter of Sir Walter Forrester of Torwood, and had: Sir James Sterling, 1539-1588, who married, as his second wife, Jean Chisholm of that ancient line and had: Margaret Sterling, who married Sir John Houstoun of that ilk. 1 (They had a charter of Houstoun 1609).

Shaw, 1179, stated to be descended from McDuff, Thane of Fife, married Egidie Montgomery, daughter of Hugh Montgomery, Chief of his name, and had: Shaw 1210, married Mary Sandilands end had a second son, William Macintosh, who married Beatrice Lermouth of Fife and had: Shaw, who married a daughter of Thane of Calder and had: Ferquhard Macintosh, who married Mora, daughter of Angus or Eaneas Og McDonald of the Isles, and had: Angus or Eaneas McIntosh, who married Eva, only daughter of Gilpatrick Macdougal Vic Gillichattan, Chief of Clan Chattan. and had: William McIntosh who married second, Margaret McLeod, daughter of Roderick Mor McLeod of Lewis by Margaret, daughter of John McDonald, Lord of the Isles, and had: Malcolm Beg McIntosh, who married Mora McRanald, daughter of Raneld McRanald, first of Moidart, end had, among others: 1. Lachlan McIntosh of McIntosh, and also a third son, Allan McIntosh of Holme, whose descendant. John McIntosh of Holme, went to Georgia.

Lachlan McIntosh of McIntosh married Catherine, daughter of Sir Duncan Grant, Chief of the Grants and first of Freuchie, and had: Lachlan Beg McItosh who married Jean or Janet Gordon, daughter of Sir Alexander Gordon of Lochinvar, who married Jean Kennedy, daughter of John, second Lord Kennedy, by Elizabeth, daughter of Alexander Gordon, Earl of Huntly, and Elizabeth, daughter of William, Lord Chrichton.

John, second Lord Kennedy, was son of Gilbert Kennedy, first Lord, by Katharine, daughter of Herbert Maxwell, first Lord Maxwell; and Gilbert, first Lord Kennedy, was son of James Kennedy by the Princess Mary, daughter of Robert HL; son of Sir Gilbert Kennedy by Agnes Maxwell, daughter of Sir John Maxwell of Pollock by his wife Isobel Lindsay, daughter of Sir John Lindsay and Egidia, half sister of Robert U. Thus we see that the McIntoshes are of several lines of Royal descent.

Lachlan McIntosh and Jean Gordon had: William Mclntosh, who married Margaret daughter of Alexander Ogilvie of Cardell and Deskford, first Baron, and had: Lachlan Mor Mcintosh. who married Agnes McKenzie, daughter of Kenneth McKenzie, tenth of Kintail, by Lady Elizabeth Stewart, daughter of John Stewart, second Earl of Athell, by Lady Mary, or Janet, daughter of Archibald Campbell, second Earl of Argyll. John Stewart, second Earl of Atholl, was son of John Stewart, first Earl, by Lady Eleanor St Clair, daughter of William St. Clair, third Earl of Orkney; and John Stewart first Earl of Atholl, was son of Sir James Stewart, the Black Knight of Lorn, by Joanna, widow of King James I. and daughter of John, Earl of Somerset. son of John, Duke of Lancaster, son of Edward III. of England. Thus again we see the McIntosh of Royal lineage.

Lachlan Mor McIntosh and Agnes McKenzie had: William McIntosh, who married 1594, Elizabeth Innes, daughter of Robert Inns of Innermarkie, of Royal descent, and had: Lachlan McIntosh, who married 1636, Helen Gordon and had: William McIntosh, who married Mary, daughter of William Baillie VII. of Dunain, and Elizabeth Forbes; son of Alexander Baillie and Catherine Monro of Milltown; son of William Baillie and Catherine Mum of Foulis, daughter of Robert More Munro by Margaret Ogilvie, daughter of James Ogilvie of Cardell, and Janet, daughter of Sir Alexander Gordon of Lochinvar by Jean Kennedy, daughter of John, second Lord Kennedy; son of Gilbert, first Lord; son of James Kennedy by Princess Mary, daughter of King Robert III. Thus through the Baillies of Dunain and the Munros do the Mclntoshes again descend from the Royal line of Scotland.

William McIntosh and Mary Baillie had: Lachlan McIntosh of Knocknagael, who married Mary Lockhart, daughter of John Lockhart Bailie of Inverness, and besides others had: John More McIntosh who went to Georgia and lived and died there, leaving issue. (See "Baillie of Dunain.")

John McIntosh, third son, styled "of Lynvilulg," had: Donald, Lachlan, and John McIntosh who also went to Georgia and had: William and Angus McIntosh, and possibly others.
