John Stewart, second Earl of Atholl, was son of John Stewart, first Earl, by Lady Eleanor St Clair, daughter of William St. Clair, third Earl of Orkney; and John Stewart first Earl of Atholl, was son of Sir James Stewart, the Black Knight of Lorn, by Joanna, widow of King James I. and daughter of John, Earl of Somerset. son of John, Duke of Lancaster, son of Edward III. of England. Thus again we see the McIntosh of Royal lineage. Lachlan Mor McIntosh and Agnes McKenzie had: William McIntosh, who married 1594, Elizabeth Innes, daughter of Robert Inns of Innermarkie, of Royal descent, and had: Lachlan McIntosh, who married 1636, Helen Gordon and had: William McIntosh, who married Mary, daughter of William Baillie VII. of Dunain, and Elizabeth Forbes; son of Alexander Baillie and Catherine Monro of Milltown; son of William Baillie and Catherine Mum of Foulis, daughter of Robert More Munro by Margaret Ogilvie, daughter of James Ogilvie of Cardell, and Janet, daughter of Sir Alexander Gordon of Lochinvar by Jean Kennedy, daughter of John, second Lord Kennedy; son of Gilbert, first Lord; son of James Kennedy by Princess Mary, daughter of King Robert III. Thus through the Baillies of Dunain and the Munros do the Mclntoshes again descend from the Royal line of Scotland. William McIntosh and Mary Baillie had: Lachlan McIntosh of Knocknagael, who married Mary Lockhart, daughter of John Lockhart Bailie of Inverness, and besides others had: John More McIntosh who went to Georgia and lived and died there, leaving issue.
