John Jones Genealogy

John² Jones (Hugh¹) of Salem, Massachusetts was born August 4, 1667. Eldest son of Hugh Jones. Lived there until 1705 and then removed to Framingham. He served in Sir William Phillips unsuccessful expedition against Quebec in 1690. His name appears on a copy of a list of Petitioners, in 1737, for a grant of land for his service. He married, January 7, 1696, Mary Knowlton of Reading, who was admitted to the Framingham Church May 17, 1717.

1. John, born June 11, 1706; died 1706.
2. John, born July 15, 1709; died 1778, married first, Sarah Gibbs of Framingham who died soon and married second, Elizabeth Gibbs, sister of his first wife, November 16, 1738.
