Catherine Frame Genealogy
Catherine Frame, daughter of
Reuben and Margaret Frame, was born
on September 27, 1842 in South Salem, N. Y. She was married to Rev. Samuel
Elbridge Vance on December 23, 1863, by her father, Reuben Frame, in Morris,
Ill. Their children were:

Selby Frame Vance, born Nov. 17, 1864 at Oneida, Ill. He
married Agnes Smith of Appleton, Wisconsin, on September 23, 1891. She was the
daughter of David Smith, born in St. Andrews, Scotland and Agnes Thorn, born
at Linlithgon, Scotland. They had a son:

Walker Frame Vance, born in Berlin, Germany on September 25,
1894. Walker Frame Vance married Ruth E. Harper on May 10, 1921 in Appleton,
Wis.
Agnes Smith Vance, wife of Selby Frame Vance, died March 10,
1906. Selby Frame Vance married a second time after Agnes' death to Jeannie
Putnam on September 1, 1909, in Columbia, Ohio. They had two sons:

Douglas Selby Vance, born September 17, 1912;

Elbridge Putnam Vance, born February 7, 1915.

Harriet Shelley Vance, born March 18, 1867 in Oneida, Ill.;
never married; became a successful Y. W. C. A. secretary, becoming General
Secretary of the Associations in Portland, Oregon; Peoria, Ill.; Pittsburgh,
Penn.; Denver, Colorado; and Kansas City, Missouri;

Edward Elbridge Vance, born in Granville, Ill. on July 23,
1872; died of tuberculosis, February 17, 1902 in Denver, Colorado; was a
Presbyterian minister; is buried in Morris, Ill.;

James Milton, born in Lexington, Ill. on May 21, 1875; married
Daisy Wood; had no children;

Catherine Stuart Vance, born in Lodi, Wisconsin on September
19, 1885; went as a missionary to China under the Y. W. C. A. in 1915.
Catherine Frame, mother of these five children, died on August
6, 1890, and was buried in Morris, Illinois, in the Evergreen Cemetery in the
Davidson lot. Her husband, S. E. Vance, died in Pontiac, Illinois, on March 3,
1901 and is buried in Morris, Ill.
