John Henry Cook Genealogy
197 John Henry Cook, son of
John LaFayette, b. February
17, 1860, in Wayne County. He was a farmer. He m. January 4, 1882, Sarah Ellen
Keaton. Early in 1900 he bought a farm near Pontotoc, Miss. and prepared to move
his family to that location. However, he d. February 27, 1900, and was buried in
the Cook Cemetery on Hardin's Creek. Later the widow and children moved to the
farm in Miss. The mother d. in September 1908. Several of the children married
and reared families near Pontotoc.

239. Carmie Luther, b. April 29, 1883; m. Nellie Biffle. They
live on a farm near Pontotoc, Miss. They have no children.
240. Clyde Cleveland, b. June 29, 1887; m. Minnie Biffle. They
live on a farm near Pontotoc, Miss. They have three children: Alvis, Jessica,
and Frances. Alvis, b. 1908, m. Ella Kuhn. They live in Bissoier City, La.
Jessica, b. 1917, m. Wayman Jones. They live in Gladewater, Texas, and have a
son, Wayland, b. 1945, and a daughter, Judy, b. 1947. Frances, b. 1922, m.
Lonnie Rutledge. They live near Pontotoc and have a son George, b. 1956 and
three daughters: Donna, b. 1945, Mary, b. 1949, and Cyntha, b. 1956.
241. Katie Irene, b. March 23, 1890; d. 1907. She m. John
Biffle and had a daughter Mary Ellen who m. Fred Powers of Memphis, Tennessee.
242. John Kennie, b. April 15, 1900; m. Lavern Tate. They live
near Pontotoc and have no children.
243. Timothy Burton, b. February 16, 1892; m. Carolyn Young.
They live near Pontotoc and have two daughters; Beulah who m. Dr. Kincaid
Cooper of Morristown and had a dau., Carol Ann; and Etoyl who m. (1) Edward
Cunningham and had a dau., Helen Carolyn, and m. (2) Capt. Arnie Millican and
had three children, Sharon, Madolin and Timothy.
