Anna Frances Cook Genealogy198 Anna Frances (Fannie) Cook, dau. of
John LaFayette, b. September
26, 1862, in Wayne County, Tennessee. She m. February 7, 1884, Newton Luther
Walker, b. September 17, 1857, in Wayne County, Tennessee. He was a son of Rufus
S. Walker, b. March 29, 1829 and Alvira (Voorhies) Walker, b. May 15, 1836, and
a grandson of William B. Walker, who settled on 48 Creek, in Wayne County in
1818. William B. was one of the first justices of the peace in Wayne County.
Newton Luther and wife established their home on a farm on Hardin's Creek. In
1906 they moved to Clifton but returned to the farm in 1916 where he d. December
11, 1918. In 1920 the widow and daughter moved back to Clifton and then in 1933
to Lawrenceburg. In 1938 they again returned to the farm where the mother d.
November 21, 1942. She was buried beside her husband in the Cook cemetery. They
were gracious and good people and the latch string to their home was always out
for their relatives and friends.
