Nancy Harper Andrews (Daniel⁷, Chester⁶, Asa⁵, Nehemiah⁴, Samuel³, Thomas², William¹), born Nov. 18, 1838, at Hartford, Trumbull Co., Ohio. Married Sept. 13, 1858, at New London, Iowa, to Richard Ambler, who was born March 4, 1831, at Allegany City, Pa., and who died Oct. 12, 1895, at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Nancy Harper Ambler died at Washington, D. C., Nov. 4, 1923. Buried at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. They lived in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, until 1904, when she and daughter, Sarah Ambler, moved to Washington; D. C. Richard Ambler was a lawyer in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa until his death. Children:

1. Sarah Ambler, born Oct. 3, 1859, at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Lives in Denver, Col., 1938. Graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School 1877. Graduate of Iowa Wesleyan College 1882. Graduate of Library School of State of Illinois 1900. In 1903 received appointment in office of Supt. of Documents' office, Washington, D. C. Promoted to Librarian of Public Documents, same office, July, 1907, continuing until 1912 when retired.

2. Henry Andrews Ambler, born Jan. 18, 1862, at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Married June 15, 1892, to Anna Maud Roper, who was born May 26, 1867, at Chicago, Ill. He died Oct. 13, 1934. Educated at Howe Academy and Iowa Wesleyan College of Mt. Pleasant. Studied law in his father's office and was admitted to the bar, and became a member of his father's firm. In 1907 he moved to Burlington, Iowa, and continued his practice until his death in 1934. Children:

   1. Ruth Ambler, born Oct. 22, 1895, at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Died Dec. 12, 1897, at Mt. Pleasant.

   2. Nancy Ambler, born May 22, 1897, at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Married Oct. 8, 1927, in New York City, to Mathew Grant Worster. She died Sept. 21, 1936. She was educated in Burlington public schools, graduating in 1916, and from State University of Iowa 1922. Children:

      1. Nancy Ambler Worster, born Aug. 25, 1936.

3. Loulu Ambler, born Oct. 3, 1864, at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Educated in public schools, Howe Academy and Wesleyan College graduate of 1886. She died at Denver, Col., Sept. 4, 1907. Married Nov. 18, 1889, to Alexander Vernon Officer of Denver, Col. He was born Aug. 4, 1863, and died Oct. 4, 1920. Children:

   1. Robert Ambler Officer, born Nov. 27, 1890. He is an artistic photographer. Lives in Los Angeles. Married Jan. 27, 1937, to Cherie Graves of Los Angeles, Cal.

4. Oliva Ambler, born Nov. 3, 1875, at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Married Feb. 19, 1902, to Edmund Simmons at Mt. Pleasant, who was born April 22, 1875, at Ottumwa, Iowa. They live in Denver, Col. Children:

   1. Earnest Ambler Simmons, born Sept. 19, 1912. Living at Denver with his parents. Employed by the G. W. Phillips Co., building materials.
